Hume Philosophy

This photo is a picture of an umbrella opened indoors, along with the drawing of Hermes the dog from Sophie’s World. An opened umbrella indoors is often a superstition known as bad luck in many cultures. I chose to photograph this because Hume didn’t believe in superstition. “‘You see a black cat cross the street. Later that day you fall and break your arm. But that doesn’t mean there is any causal link between the two incidents.'” (pg. 278)
